so i was listening to radiolab earlier today. (its a radio show they play in the US, basically a pretty random show that covers all sorts of interesting topics) and they were talking about the concept of “loops” and one of the sections they were talking about audio tape loops. this one guy was basically digitzing a bunch of them. but while he was in the middle of recording them, they started to deteriorate and fall apart. like the iron oxide on the tape just started coming off. all while it was recording. so it sounds like these musical loops are just slowly being destroyed. like the melodies contained on them are just slowly being washed to way. and it sounds so god damn beautiful. you just have to listen to it to even understand.118 plays

so there’s a singer/songwriter from nashville by the name if levi weaver. i’ve been a huge fan of his since i was 15, and he’s been such a huge inspiration to me as a musician since then. and earlier last month, i have the pleasure of actually meeting him while seeing one of his concerts. i never feel like i get to say it enough, but this man is so amazing and talented. not to mention sweet as can be and so intelligent. even after talking to him in person (at length even) i couldn’t quite come up with the words to say to him and how important he’s been to my development as a musician, songwriter, and singer. because of that, i implore you, listen to this man’s music. he deserves so many people’s support and i just wish he could have that more than any other musician i know.62 plays

sammneiland: so. i finally did it. after being sorta without any concept of what to do, i finally made a proper strife/prince of mind theme for myself. its very hard finding something that encompasses regal tone with intellectual mysteriousness that isn’t totally out there and weird. also sticking with an instrumentation set fitting for a video game/homestuck. anyway yeah. i hope you enjoy it. p.s. i guess this means i should work on themes for reid, aki, and jenna’s characters as well. hmm hmm hmmmmmm. i’m reblogging this because you guys don’t know how proud of it i am and i still really like it. and i want to do another version of it in some way.418 plays
