i’ve been working on a band project with my friend connor for too fucking long a while now, and i’m working on one song in particular, mostly writing vocals and lyrics.

so here’s a sample from the middle of the song just to give you a taste.

also to emulate analogue tape sounds because i can fucking do it if i want to.

it’s going to be from the first album (which i’m not sure if its going to be ep length or lp length at this point) for our band aparatov called mk5. a music project about an androids, future cities, and a lonely and confused a.i. unit.

i’m hoping to release it by the end of the year.

i know i never post anything really about music i’m working on… for good reason, but i guess it can’t hurt to give a little sneak peak.

~”Sparks” Single Available Now on Bandcamp~

So E.K. Weaver does a comic by the name of The Less Than Epic Adventures of TJ and Amal which she has been releasing both as webcomic series as well as on print. For the print version of Volume 2 (which can be ordered here), she asked me to write a song to be used in the comic which is how Sparks came to be, inspired by both of the characters as well as their experiences thus far in the comic.

If you had pre-ordered the Wanderlust Edition of Volume 2, you’ll be getting the song as a freebie download coupon. For everyone else though, you can download it from Bandcamp for $1 (or more if you’re feeling generous).

its really weird the hate i hear seems to be coming from two sides.

the one side that said the movie was overly elaborate and visually distracting. (which i’ve always hated that excuse because how else are you going to show off a bunch of rich whitey’s partying in the 1920s?)

and then the other side which is complaining how its a really shitty love story. which… if you ever read the book, no duh its a shitty love story. its about how shitty love can make things.

so i went and saw the great gatsby, which is apparently supposed to be terrible but i rather enjoyed it? it stayed pretty close to the book really, and for anyone complaining about it being too flashy well… look into america during the 1920s sometime.

anyway i was quite delighted to find out the soundtrack is going to be released on vinyl this june, and i figured i’d share my favourite song (and favourite version) from the movie.
